Nine’s night in metro and regional markets. Ten was third in the metros but the ABC topped it in the regions, forcing Ten back to fourth. Once again it was a pretty average night of viewing — The Block Glasshouse was most watched program simply because there was very little competition on other networks. It had 1.762 million national/ 1.180 million metro/ 582,000 regional viewers. It was one of those nights where an hour or two of live sport (football, cricket for instance) would have been a blessed relief from what was on last night.

Big Brother rose from the low levels earlier in the week — but not by much. But it did beat the second episodes for the week of Ten’s bottom dweller, The Bachelor. We could lock the contestants of both programs in a house for a fight to the death live TV battle, in the interest of cleaning up TV, mind you. Big Brother had 1.029 million national/ 748,0000 metro/ 281,000 regional viewers. The Bachelor had 927,000 national/ 726,000 metro/ 202,000 regional viewers. ABC’s Catalyst at 8pm showed its worth with 1.063 million viewers — intelligent life amid the dross on Nine and Ten. The hour of Home and Away on Seven from 7pm had 1.448 million viewers and the antics of its inhabitants easily out-rated those of the contestants on Big Brother and The Bachelor.
