From 7.30pm to the end of ratings the ABC ran second (Q&A had 610,000 nationally from 9.40pm). The ABC’s programs have much smaller budgets than do MKR, MAFS or Australian Survivor and yet get solid ratings out of limited resources (as does Ten in other areas). A message for struggling Seven, especially.

Seven’s MKR with 793,000 beat Ten’s Australian Survivor All Stars with 783,000. But both were whacked by the ABC’s line up — 7.30 with 969,000, Australian Story with 1.05 million, Four Corners with a very solid 1.07 million and Media Watch with 969,000.

Otherwise it was Nine’s night once again as MAFS pulled in 1.46 million nationally.

In regional markets it was Seven News 6.30 with 551,000, Seven News with 548,000, Home and Away with 406,000, MAFS with 368,000 and The Chase Australia 5.30pm with 339,000
